Clarivate, a leading global authority, held its grand “Top 100 Global Innovators™” awards ceremony today (April 9) in Taipei. Optoelectronics giant Coretronic Corporation (5371) has once again been named to the “Top 100 Global Innovators™ 2026” list, fully demonstrating its outstanding performance in R&D and innovation capabilities. As a world-leading provider of information and analytics, Clarivate selects and honors top-tier organizations with high impact in technical research and innovation fields each year. A total of 12 Taiwanese companies received this prestigious honor in 2026. Coretronic's third inclusion not only highlights its achievements from long-term cultivation of core technologies and comprehensive intellectual property deployment but also further consolidates its leading position in the global optoelectronics industry.
Dr. Robert Hsueh, Chief Technology Officer of Coretronic, stated upon accepting the award on behalf of the company: “It is a great honor to be included in the ‘Top 100 Global Innovators’ list once more. This recognition highlights Coretronic's exceptional achievements in driving continuous technological innovation, strengthening our patent portfolio, and enhancing patent impact. In recent years, while continuing to develop our key technology patents for projection and display products, we have also actively responded to the global AI wave. By integrating core technologies such as image processing, computer vision, high-performance computing, and big data, we are extending our R&D capabilities into diverse application fields including smart displays and unmanned vehicles, continuously expanding our innovation footprint.”
Dr. Robert Hsueh further pointed out: “Coretronic highly values R&D investment and technological innovation, continuously promoting the importance of protecting innovation through patents, and emphasizing both patent quality and quantity. The R&D team sets patent performance indicators every year. Through close collaboration between the headquarters’ intellectual property department and various business units, we systematically uncover high-value hardware and software patent technologies, while implementing patent quality control and patent education training for R&D personnel. To date, the Group has accumulated approximately 3,000 granted valid patents and has about 1,000 pending patent applications across major markets including Taiwan, the United States, mainland China, Europe, Japan, and South Korea, demonstrating its profound capabilities in global intellectual property deployment.”
Clarivate is a leading global provider of revolutionary intelligence services, headquartered in the United Kingdom, with operations spanning over 100 countries and regions worldwide and a workforce of more than 4,000 employees. Its published “Top 100 Global Innovators™” report comprehensively assesses the quality and impact of each patent idea by utilizing a complete and rigorous comparative analysis methodology for global inventions, alongside multiple metrics and tools highly correlated with innovation capacity. In the 2026 evaluation, participating organizations had to meet two qualification thresholds based on invention activity: “possessing 500 published invention patents since 2000” and “possessing 100 granted patents during the 5-year evaluation period (2020 to 2024).” The “Top 100 Global Innovators™ 2026” list first filtered out approximately 3,000 innovative organizations that met both of the aforementioned entry criteria, from which the final “Top 100 Global Innovators™” were ultimately selected.
Coretronic has once again been honored as one of the “Top 100 Global Innovators™”, fully demonstrating the fruitful results of the company's long-term commitment to forward-looking R&D and strategic patent deployment. Looking ahead, Coretronic will continue to uphold its mission of “Rooting Tech, Sustaining Growth,” deepening its innovation momentum, expanding its global footprint, and continuously exerting its technological influence to steadily advance toward its long-term vision of sustainable operations.
